Job summary

Unitrade 745 (Pty) Ltd is seeking a professionally registered Senior Structural Engineer to lead complex structural projects from feasibility through to construction. You will oversee multidisciplinary teams, prepare proposals and cost estimates, and ensure technical excellence across commercial developments.

The role requires a BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering, ECSA Pr. Eng registration, and a minimum of 10 years' experience (including 2+ years post-registration).

Qualifications

• BSc/BEng in Civil Engineering required.
• ECSA Pr. Eng registration required.
• 10+ years of relevant experience including at least 2 years post-registration.
• Experience with structural and civil projects in commercial developments.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural engineering projects from inception to completion.
• Prepare technical and commercial proposals, execution plans, fee proposals and cost estimates.
• Conduct feasibility studies, option analyses and technical due diligence.
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, technical reports and specifications.
• Support procurement through tender documentation and bid evaluations.
• Coordinate structural design resources to meet quality and programme requirements.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders.
• Contribute to business development and strategic planning.
• Provide mentorship and quality oversight to junior engineers and drafters.
• Deliver projects across sectors including offices, retail, hospitality and healthcare.
