About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of major civil engineering projects, including bridges, high-rise buildings, and infrastructure, in Cape Town.
• Oversee and mentor a team of structural engineers, ensuring the quality and accuracy of all design calculations and drawings.
• Develop innovative and cost-effective structural solutions that meet project requirements and industry standards.
• Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and address any structural issues that may arise.
• Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other consultants to ensure seamless project integration and execution.
• Review and approve technical reports, specifications, and construction documents related to structural elements.

Requirements

• A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in structural engineering, with at least 3 years in a Lead Engineer role.
• Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD Pro) and CAD tools.
• Deep understanding of relevant building codes and standards, particularly those applicable in South Africa.
• Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a closely related field from a reputable institution.
• Professional Engineer (Pr. Eng.) registration with ECSA is mandatory.
