Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for our client in George, Western Cape. The role focuses on leading complex infrastructure and building projects, delivering compliant designs, and mentoring junior engineers.

You will oversee structural design and analysis using SAP2000, ETABS, Revit Structure and AutoCAD, ensure adherence to SANS codes, and manage project timelines and budgets with a hands-on, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Professional registration as Pr. Eng. with ECSA is essential.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in structural engineering design and project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of projects (commercial, industrial, residential, infrastructure).
• Prepare calculations, drawings and specifications using industry-standard software.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during construction.
• Mentor junior engineers and review designs by others.
• Manage timelines, budgets and resources for project delivery.
• Stay updated on new technologies, materials and codes.
