Placements24 seeks a seasoned Structural Engineer to join a prominent architectural and engineering firm in Kimberley, Northern Cape. The candidate will lead structural analysis, develop drawings, and ensure compliance with SANS codes from concept to construction documentation.

The role requires Pr. Eng with ECSA and at least seven years of experience in building design, with proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS, Prokon, and Revit Structure, plus strong collaboration skills to mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering.
• Pr. Eng registration with ECSA is required.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant structural engineering experience in building design.
• Proficiency in SAP2000, ETABS, Prokon and Revit Structure.
• Strong knowledge of concrete, steel, and timber.
• Familiarity with Northern Cape building codes and planning regulations.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for various building projects using state-of-the-art software.
• Develop detailed structural drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Ensure designs comply with national building regulations, SANS codes, and other relevant standards.
• Collaborate with architects, mechanical and electrical engineers, and other consultants to achieve project goals.
• Conduct site inspections during construction to verify compliance with design documents.
• Provide technical advice and solutions to construction challenges.
• Manage structural design tasks for assigned projects, ensuring timely delivery.
• Mentor and guide junior structural engineers and technicians.
• Prepare structural reports and feasibility studies.
