Placements24 in Nelspruit invites an experienced Stress Analysis Engineer to join our engineering team on-site. You will apply FEA to assess structural integrity and identify potential failure points in mechanical designs under various loads.

The role requires 5+ years in stress analysis, a Master’s or PhD in mechanical or civil engineering with an FEA focus, and proficiency with ANSYS, Abaqus or NASTRAN. You’ll generate technical reports and collaborate with design engineers.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical or Civil Engineering with a focus on structural mechanics or FEA.
• 5+ years of hands-on stress analysis and FEA experience in an industrial or product development setting.
• Proficiency with industry-standard FEA software (ANSYS Mechanical, Abaqus, NASTRAN).
• Strong understanding of solid mechanics, materials science, and failure theories.

Responsibilities

• Perform detailed stress analysis and structural integrity assessments using FEA software.
• Develop and validate finite element models for complex mechanical components and assemblies.
• Analyze simulation results to predict material behavior, deformation, and potential failure modes under loads.
• Collaborate with design engineers to iterate on designs, optimize strength, stiffness and weight.
• Generate comprehensive technical reports documenting analysis methods, results, and recommendations.
• Stay current with advancements in FEA techniques, software and best practices in structural analysis.
