Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a Senior Stress Analysis Engineer to join our client’s Klerksdorp team. You will conduct advanced structural and stress analyses on mechanical components, ensuring integrity under diverse load conditions in a hybrid work setting.

You will develop and validate analytical models, correlate with test data, and collaborate with design teams to drive robust, safe designs. A strong background in FEA (ANSYS/Abaqus/Nastran), 8+ years of experience, and MSc or PhD

Qualifications

• MSc or PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field with focus on structural mechanics.
• 8+ years of experience specifically in stress analysis and FEA.
• Expert proficiency with FEA software packages such as ANSYS, Abaqus, or Nastran.
• Strong understanding of material mechanics, fracture mechanics, and fatigue analysis.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, managing remote analysis tasks and on-site meetings.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex finite element analysis (FEA) to assess stress, strain, vibration, and fatigue life of mechanical components.
• Develop and validate analytical models, ensuring accuracy and correlation with experimental test data.
• Interpret analysis results and provide clear, concise recommendations to design engineers for design improvements.
• Collaborate closely with design teams to address potential structural issues early in the product development cycle.
• Contribute to the development and refinement of analysis methodologies and best practices in the engineering department.
• Maintain detailed documentation of analysis procedures, assumptions, and results for compliance and knowledge sharing.
