Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Security Operations Analyst in Randburg to lead the SOC and drive real-time monitoring, threat detection, and incident response. You will mentor junior analysts and develop robust playbooks to strengthen the organization’s security posture in Gauteng.

The role requires a strong background in SIEM/EDR, digital forensics, and a deep understanding of current threat landscapes. A CISSP or GIAC certification is highly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, Info Security, or related field.
• 5+ years in Security Operations or Incident Response.
• Experience with SIEM/EDR and SOC tools.
• Knowledge of threat landscapes and mitigation techniques.
• Experience with digital forensics and malware analysis.
• GIAC (GCIH, GCFA) or CISSP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead monitoring of security alerts and investigate incidents.
• Develop and refine SOC playbooks and procedures.
• Perform in-depth security event analysis including malware analysis and forensics.
• Manage and optimize security monitoring tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR).
• Mentor and guide junior security analysts and contribute to threat intelligence.
