Job summary

SPEC Africa (Pty) Ltd. is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Senior Site Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Cape Town, Western Cape.

The successful candidate will oversee the commercial management of construction projects, including cost control, forecasting, payment valuations, contract administration, variations, claims and subcontractor management. The role requires close collaboration with project teams to monitor performance, manage commercial risks and profitability, and

Qualifications

• BSC Quantity Surveyor degree or diploma is required.
• Five years' relevant experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of ISO 9001 and 18001 is advantageous.
• Proven ability to manage commercial risks on-site and interpret drawings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial function from the assigned construction site with daily collaboration with PM/Construction Manager and planner.
• Validate site measurements, production records and payment valuations for accurate cost recovery.
• Mentor QSs, forecast margins, cash exposure and recovery priorities.
• Review cost-to-complete and final-margin forecasts against actuals and site overheads.
• Lead variation and claims strategy with timely notices and valuations.
• Coordinate subcontract scope, rates, payments, changes and final accounts within authority.
