Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Lead Site Engineer for our client in Pretoria, Gauteng. The role manages senior site teams, oversees quality, safety, and timelines across large residential developments.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering or Construction Management background with 7+ years in site supervision on large projects, plus registration credentials (ECSA/SACPCMP) preferred. Based in Gauteng or willing to relocate.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Professional registration (e.g., ECSA, SACPCMP) is advantageous.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in site engineering and supervision, focused on large residential developments.
• Experience in managing civil works (earthworks, roads, services) and building structures.
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and quality control.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety regulations in SA construction.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specs.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Based in Gauteng or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily construction activities on large residential estate projects.
• Ensure workmanship and materials meet specifications and standards.
• Coordinate foremen, surveyors, and subcontractors to maintain momentum.
• Enforce health and safety protocols on site for all personnel.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications for Pretoria.
• Manage site logistics, deliveries, and equipment scheduling.
• Conduct site inspections and quality checks, document progress.
• Liaise with Project Manager and stakeholders to resolve site issues.
• Maintain accurate site records and daily reports.
• Foster positive relations with site team and subcontractors.
