Placements24 is seeking aSenior Site Engineer for projects in Stellenbosch, Western Cape. The role combines on-site supervision with remote planning and reporting, bridging site execution and off-site work.

You will coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and site personnel to ensure work aligns with specifications, budget, and timelines. The ideal candidate has a civil engineering degree, 6+ years of site experience, and strong leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and site management best practices.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with project management software is a plus.
• Problem-solving aptitude and decision-making capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage day-to-day construction activities on site.
• Ensure adherence to project plans, specifications, safety standards, and quality control.
• Coordinate subcontractors and site teams for efficient workflow.
• Monitor progress, productivity and resource usage; report to project management.
• Implement and manage site safety procedures.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on site.
• Manage site logistics, including material procurement and equipment deployment.
• Conduct site inspections and quality assurance checks.
• Maintain daily logs, progress reports and safety documentation.
• Collaborate on scheduling, planning and problem-solving.
