Job summary

The Recruitment Pig is seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead asphalt road projects on busy sites. You will oversee crews, plant operators, and subcontractors, ensuring daily output aligns with project standards and client expectations.

You will apply knowledge of COLTO specifications, asphalt machinery, and safe work practices while coordinating with client engineers to prevent delays and maintain quality.

Qualifications

• Eight to ten years of practical site management experience on roads and asphalt.
• Diploma/BTech in Civil Engineering or Construction Management required.
• Strong working knowledge of asphalt paving machinery and rollers.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily road surfacing, asphalt deliveries, and paver feed on site.
• Manage paving crews, plant operators, and subcontractors to maintain high daily output.
• Check layer thickness, mix temperatures, and compaction densities against standards.
• Coordinate milling works, prime coats, and surface preparation before laying asphalt.
• Control site materials, equipment usage, diesel consumption, and basic cost records.
• Enforce strict zero-harm safety standards and safe traffic accommodation across zones.
• Collaborate with client engineers to avoid project delays.

• Enforce strict zero-harm safety standards and safe traffic accommodation across working zones.
• Work closely with client consulting engineers to solve technical matters without project delays.

What You Need to Apply

• National Diploma or BTech in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Eight to ten years of practical site management experience on roads and asphalt.
• Strong technical working knowledge of asphalt paving machinery, rollers, and mix types.
• Good understanding of COLTO specifications and standard civil engineering contracts.
• Professional registration with ECSA or SACPCMP is an added advantage.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to lead active site teams from the front.
• A positive attitude, team spirit, and a strong commitment to doing quality work.
