Job summary

The Recruitment Pig is seeking a senior contracts leadership professional to oversee asphalt surfacing projects across Gauteng. You will drive compliance with GCC contracts, manage budgets, and coordinate teams of site agents and paving crews to meet deadlines.

You bring 10–15 years of civil road construction experience, strong leadership, and a track record with SANRAL or municipal highway projects. This on-site role offers significant responsibility and regional impact.

Qualifications

• BSc, BTech, or National Diploma in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 10–15 years of civil road construction and asphalt surfacing project experience.
• At least 5 years at Contracts Manager or Senior Site Agent level.
• Experience delivering major SANRAL, provincial, or municipal highway paving contracts.
• Registration with SACPCMP or ECSA is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Oversee multiple active asphalt surfacing, road milling, and rehabilitation contracts across the region.
• Guide and support Site Agents, surfacing supervisors, and paving teams to hit project deadlines.
• Coordinate supply programs with asphalt batch plants to maintain continuous paver laying speeds.
• Manage monthly payment certificates, contract variation claims, and project budgets under standard GCC contracts.
• Ensure paving operations comply with COLTO, SANRAL, and road engineering quality standards.
• Allocate specialized pavers, milling machines, rollers, and transport fleets to maximize daily productivity.
• Maintain professional working relationships with consulting engineers, client representatives, and road authorities.

What You Need to Apply

• Strong track record delivering major SANRAL, provincial, or municipal highway paving contracts.
• In-depth commercial understanding of GCC contracts, project costing, and variation claim management.
• Professional registration with any of SACPCMP (Pr CM) or ECSA (Pr Eng / Pr Tech Eng) is highly advantageous.
