Job summary

The Recruitment Pig is seeking a seasoned Site Manager to lead asphalt road projects in Gauteng. You will oversee daily surfacing, manage crews and equipment, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards on site.

Applicants should have 8–10 years’ site management experience, strong knowledge of asphalt machinery and COLTO specs, and a valid driver’s license. ECSA/SACPCMP registration is advantageous, with TRPig coordinating this exclusive opportunity.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or BTech in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Eight to ten years of practical site management experience on roads and asphalt.
• Strong technical working knowledge of asphalt paving machinery, rollers, and mix types.
• Good understanding of COLTO specifications and standard civil engineering contracts.
• Professional registration with ECSA or SACPCMP is an added advantage.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to lead active site teams from the front.
• A positive attitude, team spirit, and a strong commitment to doing quality work.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily road surfacing, asphalt deliveries, and paver feed rates on site.
• Manage paving crews, plant operators, and subcontractors to maintain high daily output.
• Check layer thickness, mix temperatures, and compaction densities against road engineering standards.
• Coordinate milling works, prime coats, and surface preparation before starting asphalt laying.
• Control site materials, equipment usage, diesel consumption, and basic project cost records.
• Enforce strict zero-harm safety standards and safe traffic accommodation across working zones.
• Work closely with client consulting engineers to solve technical matters without project delays.
