Job summary

The Recruitment Pig seeks an experienced plant operations leader to direct daily asphalt manufacturing for high-profile road projects. You will oversee production, optimize schedules, manage materials, and ensure strict safety and environmental compliance on site.

The role requires 7–10 years of hands-on asphalt plant experience, with deep knowledge of batch and drum plants, PLC controls, and bitumen heating systems. Strong teamwork and problem-solving are essential.

Qualifications

• Diploma or engineering degree (Mechanical/Civil/Chemical) or equivalent.
• 7–10 years hands-on experience running batch and continuous asphalt plants.
• Strong understanding of heavy asphalt plant machinery and bitumen heating systems.
• Knowledge of environmental emissions, safety compliance, and material stock control.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily asphalt manufacturing, aggregate drying, burner operations and mix batching sequences.
• Plan and schedule production to align with road paving schedules and client orders.
• Control raw material inventory including aggregates and binders.
• Enforce asphalt mix temperatures, binder ratios and grading curves for every load.
• Oversee planned maintenance for plant bins, conveyors, screens and pugmills.
• Monitor burner fuel usage and production costs to minimize waste.
• Maintain compliance with air quality licenses, dust suppression rules, and site safety standards.

• Direct daily asphalt manufacturing, aggregate drying, burner operations, and mix batching sequences.
• Plan and schedule production volumes to align directly with road paving schedules and client orders.
• Control raw material inventory, including stone aggregates, liquid bitumen binders, and specialized additives.
• Enforce strict asphalt mix temperatures, binder ratios, and grading curves for every dispatched load.
• Oversee planned preventative maintenance programs for plant bins, conveyors, screens, and mixing pugmills.
• Monitor burner fuel usage and production costs to keep manufacturing waste as low as possible.
• Maintain full compliance with municipal air quality licenses, dust suppression rules, and site safety standards.

What You Need to Apply

• National Diploma or BTech in Mechanical, Civil, or Chemical Engineering or similar relevant qualification.
• Seven to ten years of hands‑on experience running batch and continuous drum asphalt plants.
• Solid understanding of heavy asphalt plant machinery, bitumen heating systems, and PLC plant controls.
• Practical knowledge of standard asphalt mixes, modified binders, and aggregate gradings.
• Proven mechanical fault-finding skills to minimize plant downtime during active paving operations.
• Good understanding of environmental emissions, safety compliance, and raw material stock control.
