Job summary

Tiger Recruitment seeks a Senior Seafreight Import Controller in Johannesburg to coordinate international import/export cargo from origin to final delivery. You will liaise with freight forwarders, clearing agents, lines and transport providers to ensure on-time performance.

The role requires 3–5 years in import process and customer service, plus a solid understanding of documentation, customs clearance and Incoterms. Proficiency in MS Office and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in import process and customer service.
• Afrikaans preferred as per client request.
• Experience coordinating international import/export cargo.
• Knowledge of documentation, customs clearance, Incoterms.
• Proficient with MS Office and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate international import and export cargo with freight forwarders and service providers.
• Liaise with overseas suppliers, customers and internal stakeholders to ensure schedules are met.
• Verify shipping documentation and resolve discrepancies.
• Coordinate customs clearance and delivery requirements.
• Monitor shipment progress and provide regular status updates to customers.
• Verify freight charges, invoices and supporting documents.
• Maintain shipment tracking reports and operational records.
• Provide after-hours and weekend operational support when required.
• Build strong working relationships with customers and service providers.
