Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to lead major road infrastructure projects in and around Mahikeng, North West. You will plan, execute, and close projects, manage site operations, and ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

The role requires a BEng/BSc in Civil Engineering, 10+ years in civil construction with 5+ years in PM, and strong leadership and negotiation skills. ECSA Pr Eng registration is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• Professional registration with ECSA (Pr Eng) is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years in civil engineering construction, with at least 5 years in a Project Management role overseeing road infrastructure.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex, large-scale road construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of road construction techniques, materials, and equipment.
• Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera).
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and close road construction projects.
• Develop detailed project plans with scope, budget, schedule, and resources.
• Oversee day-to-day site operations and ensure progress aligns with methodologies.
• Supervise site teams including engineers and subcontractors.
• Ensure strict adherence to HSE regulations on all sites.
• Manage project finances, budgeting, cost tracking, and reporting.
• Oversee quality control to meet standards and specs.
• Negotiate with suppliers/subcontractors for favorable terms.
• Serve as primary contact for clients, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
• Identify and mitigate project risks and challenges.
