Job summary

Placements24 is recruiting a Senior Risk Manager for our client in Paarl, Western Cape. You will lead the design and oversight of enterprise-wide risk management frameworks, oversee risk identification across credit, market, operational, liquidity, and strategic areas, and report to senior management.

You will mentor a team of risk professionals, collaborate with multiple departments, ensure regulatory compliance, and foster a strong risk culture within the organization and Paarl operations.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive risk management experience in financial services.
• Strong knowledge of risk management principles, methodologies, and regulatory frameworks.
• Professional certifications such as FRM or PRM are a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain the organization's enterprise-wide risk management (ERM) framework.
• Identify, assess, and prioritize key risks facing the organization, including credit, market, operational, liquidity, and strategic risks.
• Design and implement risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
• Monitor risk exposures and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and stress testing exercises.
• Develop and deliver risk management training and awareness programs across the organization.
• Prepare comprehensive risk reports for senior management and the board of directors.
• Collaborate with business units to embed risk management principles into their processes and decision-making.
• Lead and mentor a team of risk professionals.
• Stay abreast of emerging risk trends and best practices in the financial industry.
