Job summary

Placements24 in Bloemfontein, Free State, seeks an experienced Risk Manager to identify, assess, and mitigate financial and operational risks across its insurance portfolio. The role features a flexible Hybrid model combining in-office collaboration and remote work.

You will develop ERM frameworks, perform risk assessments and stress tests, and advise senior management on risk exposure and mitigation. A Master’s in a quantitative field and 7+ years of insurance risk experience are required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related field.
• 7+ years of risk management experience in the insurance industry.
• Proven experience in developing and implementing ERM frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of financial modeling and risk assessment methodologies.
• Familiarity with Solvency II and IFRS 17 is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies and policies for the insurance portfolio.
• Identify, assess, and quantify market, credit, operational and strategic risks.
• Design and implement risk mitigation plans and controls.
• Monitor and report KRIs and risk exposures to senior management.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and stress testing of the portfolio.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
• Collaborate with internal audit, legal, and compliance teams.
• Provide training on risk management principles to staff.
• Stay updated on emerging risks and industry trends in insurance.
