Job summary

Lexdan Select is seeking a Senior Resident Civil Engineer (Roadworks) based in Cape Town. You will manage road construction contracts as the Employer’s Agent, overseeing site teams, ensuring quality, and coordinating stakeholders.

Requirements include a BSc/BEng/BTech in Civil Engineering and ECSA Pr Eng/Pr Tech Eng registration, with 10+ years’ civil roadworks experience and proven road rehab projects. Salary ranges R70-90k per month.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering (BSc, BEng or BTech).
• Registration with ECSA as Pr Eng or Pr Tech Eng.
• Minimum 10 years’ post-qualification experience on civil roadworks.
• Proven delivery of >=5 road rehab/resurfacing projects as Resident Engineer or Engineer’s Rep.
• Strong knowledge of road construction including earthworks, pavements, asphalt, drainage.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical oversight on asphalt and concrete pavement works, materials engineering, and quality control.
• Maintain professional conduct, integrity, and compliance with ECSA standards and sustainable engineering practices.

Key Requirements

• BSc, BEng, or BTech Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Registered with ECSA as a Professional Engineer (Pr Eng) or Professional Engineering Technologist (Pr Tech Eng).
• Minimum 10 years’ post-qualification experience in civil engineering and roadworks projects.
• Proven experience delivering at least five road rehabilitation or resurfacing projects as a Resident Engineer or Engineer’s Representative.
• Strong knowledge of road construction, including earthworks, pavements, asphalt surfacing, concrete pavements, and drainage.
• Experience with contract administration (GCC, FIDIC, NEC), quality assurance, contractor management, and health & safety requirements.

Salary R70-90k Per month.
