Placements24 is seeking a Senior Petroleum Reservoir Engineer in Midrand, Gauteng. The role focuses on optimizing hydrocarbon recovery through advanced simulation, decline curve analysis, and informed field development decisions.

The ideal candidate will have 8+ years in reservoir engineering, strong analytical abilities, and experience with ECLIPSE/CMG, along with a Master's degree preferred. This is a hybrid position offering collaboration across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering; Master's preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of progressive reservoir engineering experience in Oil & Gas.

Responsibilities

• Characterize reservoirs using geologic data and geophysics.
• Build and maintain reservoir simulation models to optimize production.
• Conduct decline curve analysis and volumetric estimations.
• Evaluate well placement, drilling and completion strategies.
• Analyze production data and apply secondary/tertiary recovery methods.
• Perform economic evaluations of development plans.
• Collaborate with geoscientists, drilling and production engineers.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to management.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge.
• Stay updated on new technologies in reservoir engineering.
