Placements24 in Stellenbosch is seeking an experienced Reservoir Geologist to join our exploration team, focusing on characterizing subsurface reservoirs and evaluating hydrocarbon potential.

You will integrate seismic, well log and core data with engineers and geophysicists to drive exploration and development decisions, and you will contribute to field production strategies. This role offers a collaborative, technically challenging environment with opportunities for professional growth.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Geology or a related geoscience discipline with a specialization in sedimentology or reservoir characterization.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Reservoir Geologist, preferably in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency in geological modeling software (e.g., Petrel, GeoGraphix).
• Strong understanding of sequence stratigraphy and depositional environments.
• Experience with well log analysis and core description techniques.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsabilités

• Develop and refine detailed geological models of reservoirs, integrating seismic, well log, and core data.
• Perform core analysis and sedimentological studies to understand reservoir heterogeneity.
• Evaluate reservoir quality, pore systems, and potential hydrocarbon distribution.
• Contribute to exploration and development well planning and targeting.
• Collaborate with geophysicists and engineers to optimize field development plans.
• Prepare geological reports, presentations, and interpretations for technical and management reviews.
