Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Geologist to join their exploration and development team in Stellenbosch. This hybrid role focuses on geological analysis, prospect evaluation, and integrating diverse datasets to identify hydrocarbon resources.

The successful candidate will collaborate with reservoir engineers, geophysicists, and management to guide exploration strategies and field development planning.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD required in geology or related field.
• Minimum 8 years experience in exploration geology.
• Proficiency with Petrel and Kingdom Suite.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and integrate geological data to build subsurface models.
• Evaluate exploration acreage and develop drilling recommendations.
• Conduct sedimentological and stratigraphic analyses to assess reservoir quality.
• Prepare geological reports and resource estimates for stakeholders.
• Mentor junior geologists and contribute to best practices.
• Stay updated with new geological exploration technologies.
