Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Senior Reservoir Engineer to join a globally distributed team, working remotely from South Africa. You will optimize hydrocarbon recovery using advanced reservoir simulation, contribute to long-term asset strategies, and collaborate with geoscientists and production engineers across time zones.

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Petroleum Engineering or related quantitative field.
• Minimum 8 years of hands-on reservoir engineering experience focusing on simulation and modeling.
• Proficiency in leading reservoir simulation software (Eclipse, CMG, Petrel RE).
• Experience in uncertainty quantification and probabilistic forecasting.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with remote collaboration.
• Familiarity with South African geological basins is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop, calibrate, and utilize reservoir simulation models to forecast production and evaluate development scenarios.
• Conduct reservoir characterization studies, integrating geological, geophysical, and engineering data.
• Perform economic evaluations and uncertainty analyses for field development plans and investment opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including geologists and production engineers, to optimize recovery strategies.
• Monitor reservoir performance, identify deviations, and recommend remedial actions for performance enhancement.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports and presentations for management and stakeholders, supporting strategic decision-making.
