Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Remote Senior Reservoir Engineer specializing in reservoir characterization to join their innovative team. Operating entirely remotely, you will lead efforts in understanding subsurface hydrocarbon potential using advanced analytical techniques and numerical modeling.

You will collaborate with a global network of geoscientists, drilling engineers, and production specialists to develop robust reservoir models that inform strategic decision-making.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, Reservoir Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering, with a strong focus on characterization and modeling.
• Proven expertise in reservoir simulation software (e.g., ECLIPSE, CMG) and data analysis tools.
• In-depth knowledge of reservoir physics, petrophysics, geology, and fluid flow principles.
• Experience with statistical methods and uncertainty analysis in reservoir modeling.
• Exceptional communication, leadership, and virtual collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and refinement of detailed reservoir characterization models using integrated geological, geophysical, and engineering data.
• Perform complex reservoir simulations to evaluate hydrocarbon recovery potential and optimize field development plans.
• Analyze production data, well logs, and core samples to accurately define reservoir properties and heterogeneity.
• Design and oversee data acquisition programs, including coring, logging, and testing strategies.
• Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams in a remote setting to ensure consistency and accuracy in subsurface interpretations.
• Prepare comprehensive technical reports and present findings and recommendations to management and stakeholders.
