Placements24 in Paarl, Western Cape seeks an experienced Reservoir Engineer focused on production optimization. You will analyze reservoir performance, model scenarios with Eclipse/CMG/Tempest, and implement EOR/IOR strategies to maximize recovery across mature fields.

Collaborating with drilling, production, and facilities teams, you will develop optimization plans, prepare technical reports, and stay abreast of new reservoir engineering techniques to boost asset value.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of reservoir engineering experience.
• Experience in production optimization.
• Knowledge of EOR techniques desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Analyze production data, decline curves, and reservoir performance to identify optimization opportunities.
• Develop and implement strategies for enhanced oil recovery (EOR) and improved oil recovery (IOR).
• Conduct reservoir simulation studies to evaluate different production scenarios and optimize well placement and completion strategies.
• Perform well test analysis to determine reservoir properties and identify potential issues.
• Collaborate with drilling, production, and facilities engineers to implement optimization initiatives.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations on reservoir performance, production forecasts, and recommended actions.
• Monitor the effectiveness of implemented production optimization strategies and make necessary adjustments.
• Contribute to field development planning and economic evaluations of proposed projects.
• Stay current with new technologies and methodologies in reservoir engineering and production optimization.
• Ensure compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
