Placements24 seeks a seasoned Senior Reservoir Engineer in Pretoria to optimize gas and oil reservoir performance. You will build advanced reservoir models, analyze history data, and forecast production while collaborating with geology and production teams to maximize recovery.

The role emphasizes material balance, decline-curve analysis, and economic evaluation for field development, with a focus on robust reservoir characterization and data-driven decision making.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of reservoir engineering experience, with a focus on natural gas reservoirs.
• Proficient in reservoir simulation software (ECLIPSE, Petrel RE) and data analysis tools.
• Solid understanding of reservoir characterization, fluid properties, and enhanced oil/gas recovery methods.
• Experience with decline curve analysis, type curves, and production forecasting.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey technical findings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reservoir simulation models for gas and oil fields.
• Analyze well performance data, production trends, and pressure transient tests to understand reservoir behavior.
• Perform material balance calculations and volumetrics estimations for hydrocarbon reserves.
• Develop and implement optimized production and injection strategies to maximize recovery.
• Conduct economic evaluations for field development plans and infill drilling opportunities.
• Collaborate with geologists, production engineers, and management to provide reservoir insights and recommendations.
