Placements24 is seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer in Pietermaritzburg to optimize hydrocarbon recovery and manage reservoir assets. You will develop and implement reservoir management strategies, collaborating with geoscientists and production engineers to drive long-term profitability.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in reservoir engineering, strong simulation skills, and a track record in reservoir characterization and EOR opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering within oil and gas.
• Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (ECLIPSE, CMG Suite, Petrel RE).
• Strong understanding of reservoir physics, fluid flow in porous media, and well test analysis.
• Experience with data analysis, statistical methods, and uncertainty assessment.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with ability to mentor junior engineers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute reservoir management plans to maximize economic recovery and sustainable production.
• Conduct detailed reservoir characterization studies using geological and engineering data.
• Perform reservoir simulation and modeling to forecast future performance and evaluate development scenarios.
• Identify and evaluate new opportunities for enhanced oil recovery and optimize production techniques.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate data and insights.
• Prepare technical reports, present findings, and provide recommendations to management and stakeholders.
