Placements24 is seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer for our client in Paarl, Western Cape. The role focuses on optimizing hydrocarbon recovery from existing fields and evaluating new reservoirs using advanced characterization, simulation, and performance analysis.

The ideal candidate will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and contribute to sustainable resource development in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant reservoir engineering experience.
• Proficiency with reservoir simulation tools (Eclipse, CMG) and data analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct reservoir studies using static and dynamic modeling to understand reservoir behavior.
• Develop production optimization strategies, including EOR methods.
• Perform decline curve analysis and material balance calculations.
• Utilize reservoir simulators for history matching, forecasting and scenario analysis.
• Collaborate with geologists and drilling/production engineers to meet project goals.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for management.
