Job summary

Placements24 is representing a leading Oil & Gas operator recruiting a Senior Reservoir Engineer for Mossel Bay, Western Cape. The role centers on optimizing hydrocarbon recovery, managing reservoir performance, and contributing to strategic field development plans.

It combines in-office collaboration with remote flexibility in a hybrid arrangement. You will build and maintain advanced reservoir models, perform material balance and decline curve analyses, and guide well interventions and EOR

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of progressive experience in reservoir engineering.
• Experience with reservoir simulation software (ECLIPSE, PETREL RE, CMG).
• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain reservoir simulation models to predict performance and evaluate development scenarios.
• Conduct material balance calculations, decline curve analysis, and pressure transient analysis.
• Design and implement well intervention strategies to maximize production and recovery.
• Perform economic evaluations including NPV calculations and risk assessments.
• Collaborate with geologists, production engineers, and drilling engineers on field development strategies.
• Prepare technical reports and recommendations for management and stakeholders.
• Mentor junior reservoir engineers and promote technical excellence.
• Stay updated on new technologies and industry best practices.
