Placements24 is seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer for Polokwane, Limpopo. The role focuses on evaluating, developing, and optimizing hydrocarbon reservoirs to drive production strategy and long-term asset value.

The candidate will leverage advanced reservoir modeling and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring economic viability of assets in a hybrid on-site/remote setup within South Africa.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum 8 years of reservoir engineering experience in Oil & Gas.
• Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (Eclipse, CMG, Petrel RE).
• Strong understanding of reservoir characterization, fluids, and production logging.
• Experience with Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) techniques.

Responsibilities

• Conduct reservoir studies including material balance, decline curve analysis, and volumetric calculations.
• Develop reservoir management plans to maximize hydrocarbon recovery and optimize production.
• Use reservoir simulation software to model performance, forecast production, and evaluate development scenarios.
• Analyze well performance data and recommend intervention strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and economic evaluations for management.
• Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and engineers for integrated asset development.
• Mentor junior reservoir engineers and improve practices.
