Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant reservoir engineering experience.
• Proficiency with reservoir simulation tools (Eclipse, CMG) and data analysis.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct reservoir studies using static and dynamic modeling to understand reservoir behavior.

Our client, a key player in the South African Oil & Gas sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Reservoir Engineer to join their team based in Paarl, Western Cape, ZA . This role is vital for optimizing hydrocarbon recovery from existing fields and evaluating new potential reservoirs. The successful candidate will employ advanced reservoir characterization, simulation, and performance analysis techniques. We are looking for a technically adept professional with a proven history of contributing to reservoir management strategies. This position offers a Hybrid work model, allowing for a balance between on-site collaboration and remote work flexibility. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct reservoir studies, including static and dynamic modeling, to understand reservoir behavior.
• Develop and implement production optimization strategies, including artificial lift and enhanced oil recovery (EOR) methods.
• Perform decline curve analysis, material balance, and volumetric estimations.
• Utilize reservoir simulation software for history matching, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
• Evaluate the potential of new drilling locations and infill opportunities.
• Collaborate with geologists, drilling engineers, and production engineers to achieve project goals.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and recommendations for management.
• Monitor reservoir performance and recommend adjustments to production plans.
• Mentor junior reservoir engineers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed about new technologies and methodologies in reservoir engineering.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in reservoir engineering, preferably within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Proficiency in reservoir simulation software (e.g., Eclipse, CMG) and data analysis tools.
• Strong understanding of reservoir characterization, fluid properties, and reservoir management.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Effective communication and teamwork skills.
• Experience in a hybrid work environment is beneficial.
• Familiarity with South African operational contexts is a plus.
