Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Reservoir Engineer in Benoni, Gauteng, to lead Enhanced Oil Recovery initiatives. You will develop and implement EOR strategies, run simulations, and collaborate with geologists and facilities engineers to maximize mature-field recovery.

The role combines on-site collaboration with remote work flexibility in a hybrid setup. You will mentor juniors, prepare detailed reports, and stay abreast of new EOR developments, contributing to long-term production goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum or Chemical Engineering with relevant EOR experience.
• Minimum 8 years of reservoir engineering experience, 4+ years in EOR.
• Proven expertise with reservoir simulation tools and data interpretation.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate EOR potential for thermal, chemical, or gas injection methods.
• Build reservoir models and run simulations for EOR performance.
• Design and manage pilot EOR projects and scale successful results.
• Integrate geology, petrophysics and engineering data for EOR planning.
• Economic evaluations and feasibility analyses for EOR projects.
• Monitor existing EOR operations and identify optimization opportunities.
• Collaborate with geologists, production and facilities engineers.
• Prepare technical reports and present recommendations to management.
• Stay current with EOR tech and foster knowledge sharing.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team knowledge base.
