Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Reservoir Engineer focused on Production Optimization in Klerksdorp, North West. This hybrid role collaborates with geology and production teams to maximize hydrocarbon production and optimize reservoir performance.

You will build and maintain reservoir models, conduct decline curve analysis, and evaluate EOR opportunities, contributing to strategic development plans and profitability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of reservoir engineering experience in Oil & Gas.
• Proficiency with reservoir simulation software (ECLIPSE, Tempest, CMG).
• Strong understanding of reservoir physics, fluid flow, and rock mechanics.
• Experience with production data analysis and decline curve analysis.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills; ability to work in a hybrid environment.
• Familiarity with Klerksdorp, North West region is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Analyze reservoir performance data including production rates, pressures, and fluid properties.
• Develop and maintain reservoir simulation models to predict future performance.
• Identify and implement strategies for production optimization and EOR.
• Collaborate with geologists and drilling engineers to integrate geological models.
• Perform economic evaluations of development and production scenarios.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings to management.
• Monitor field development plans and ensure alignment with production targets.
• Stay updated on reservoir engineering technologies and best practices.
