Placements24 is seeking an experienced Senior Remote Project Manager to lead agile software development projects from concept to deployment. This role is fully remote within South Africa, requiring strong communication and a deep understanding of Agile methodologies to drive product success and client satisfaction.

You'll collaborate with product owners, developers, QA testers, and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery, maintain robust backlogs, and mentor junior managers in Agile practices

You will be responsible for guiding software development teams through the entire product lifecycle, from concept to deployment. This position requires a deep understanding of Agile methodologies, excellent communication skills for remote collaboration, and a passion for delivering high-quality software. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage agile software development projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to sprint goals and delivery timelines.
• Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives, fostering effective communication within the remote team.
• Collaborate closely with product owners to define project scope, gather requirements, and manage the product backlog.
• Ensure the development team has a clear understanding of project objectives and user stories.
• Identify, track, and resolve project impediments and risks, escalating as necessary.
• Monitor project progress, velocity, and team performance, providing regular reports to stakeholders.
• Champion Agile best practices and continuously seek opportunities for process improvement within the team.
• Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure clear, consistent communication throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee the quality assurance process and ensure the delivery of robust, scalable software solutions.
• Mentor and coach junior project managers and team members on Agile principles.

Requirements

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in project management, with at least 4 years specifically focused on managing Agile software development projects.
• Demonstrated experience with Scrum, Kanban, and other Agile frameworks.
• Proven ability to lead and motivate remote development teams effectively.
• Excellent understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Strong proficiency in project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, and similar platforms.
• Exceptional communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with a knack for virtual team engagement.
• Experience in risk management, conflict resolution, and stakeholder management.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) certification is required.
• Experience with DevOps practices is a plus.
