Job summary
Placements24 is seeking a highly creative and technically proficient Process Design Engineer to join a fully remote team focused on specialty chemicals. The role covers conceptualization through detailed design of innovative chemical processes, emphasizing safety, sustainability, and performance.
You will leverage expertise in process simulation, equipment sizing, and hazard analysis to deliver robust design packages, collaborate across geographies, and contribute to cutting-edge projects
Qualifications
- Master's or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering.
- Minimum 6 years of chemical process design experience.
- Expertise in process simulation software (Aspen Plus, ChemCAD).
- Proficient with AutoCAD and piping design.
- Experience with PHAs and process safety methodologies.
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills.
- Experienced in remote collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Develop PFDs and P&IDs for new and modified processes.
- Run process simulations to optimize unit operations.
- Size and specify reactors, heat exchangers, pumps, separations.
- Conduct PHAs and ensure safety and environmental compliance.
- Collaborate with R&D to scale from lab to pilot and production.
- Prepare process design packages and safety data sheets.
- Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, start-up.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
- Interface with clients to define requirements and report progress.
