Placements24 is seeking a highly skilled Remote Mechanical Design Engineer to lead full lifecycle design from concept to production drawings, using SolidWorks/CATIA/Siemens NX, collaborating with distributed teams remotely.

You will develop technical docs, BOMs, specs; perform FEA/CFD analysis; ensure performance, safety, and cost requirements; remote work from Vereeniging area and beyond.

Qualifications

• Master's or Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering.
• 8+ years of professional experience in mechanical design.
• Expert proficiency in CAD software and FEA/CFD tools.
• Experience designing complex assemblies and systems.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication in remote settings.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization and detailed design of mechanical systems using advanced CAD.
• Create drawings, BOMs and specifications for manufacturing and assembly.
• Perform FEA/CFD analyses to optimize designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams via virtual tools.
• Ensure designs meet performance, safety, regulatory and cost targets.
• Document solutions and lessons learned.
