Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Senior Design Engineer in Nelspruit to lead the design of complex mechanical systems from concept through production release. You will drive innovative product development, perform advanced analyses, and mentor junior engineers in a cross-functional environment.

The role requires a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years of experience, with expertise in SOLIDWORKS Premium, ANSYS Mechanical, and COMSOL.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Strong proficiency with CAD/CAE tools (SOLIDWORKS Premium, ANSYS Mechanical, COMSOL).

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptualization, design, and development of mechanical products and systems.
• Perform advanced engineering analyses including FEA and CFD.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software.
• Oversee prototype development and conduct testing to validate designs.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and manufacturing teams.
• Mentor junior design engineers and contribute to design best practices.
