Placements24 is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Specialist for a remote-first role spanning Mahikeng and beyond. You will lead complex mechanical design projects, mentor junior designers, and drive product innovation with advanced CAE/FEA analyses.

The ideal candidate has a master's degree in mechanical engineering, 8+ years of experience, and strong CAD/CAE tool expertise (SolidWorks, Creo, ANSYS, Abaqus). This role emphasizes manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and engineering excellence.

Qualifications

Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
8+ years of progressive experience in mechanical design and product development.
Expertise in SolidWorks, Creo and CAE/FEA tools such as ANSYS and Abaqus.
Proven ability to manage complex design projects in a remote setting.
Strong understanding of materials and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

Lead the conceptualization, design, and development of complex mechanical systems and components.
Perform advanced engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration simulations, using CAE tools.
Oversee the creation of detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings, ensuring adherence to specs.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams in a virtual environment.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to a team of mechanical designers and engineers.
Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and reliability.
