Job summary

Placements24 seeks a Lead Exploration Geologist to guide remote team efforts in identifying high-potential exploration prospects worldwide. You will drive seismic/well interpretation, subsurface modeling, and play fairway mapping, shaping strategic decisions for major campaigns.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in oil & gas exploration geology, with deep knowledge of basin analysis and petroleum systems, and excellent remote leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• PhD or MSc in Geology or related earth science field required.
• Minimum 12 years of progressive oil and gas exploration geology experience with leadership.
• Strong experience in basin analysis and petroleum systems.
• Proficiency with geological modeling software and remote leadership abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement regional/global exploration strategies.
• Lead geological interpretation of seismic, wells and other data to identify drillable prospects.
• Oversee creation and validation of detailed subsurface geological models.
• Conduct basin analysis, petroleum systems modeling, and play fairway mapping.
• Mentor and guide a remote team of geologists and geoscientists.
• Collaborate with geophysicists and reservoir engineers on opportunities.
• Present assessments and exploration results to senior management.
