Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Environmental Hygiene Specialist for a fully remote, nationwide role in South Africa. You will develop and oversee hygiene programs, lead remote risk assessments, and guide teams on cleaning, disinfection, and waste management.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in environmental health or industrial hygiene, with strong data analysis, regulatory knowledge, and exceptional communication. Remote work flexibility and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in environmental health, industrial hygiene, or a related sanitation management role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to present complex information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive environmental hygiene programs tailored to client needs.
• Conduct remote risk assessments and develop preventative strategies for sanitation challenges.
• Provide expert guidance and training on best practices in cleaning, disinfection, and waste management.
• Ensure all hygiene protocols align with current national and international health and safety standards.
• Analyze sanitation data to identify trends and implement corrective actions.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of hygiene protocols.
• Maintain detailed records and audit findings; stay abreast of emerging technologies in sanitation.
