Placements24 seeks a Remote Environmental Hygiene Specialist to develop and monitor hygiene protocols from Durban, SA. You will analyze data, advise on best practices, and prepare educational materials for clients and teams while collaborating virtually with cross-functional experts.

Ideal candidates hold advanced public health degrees and 5+ years in environmental hygiene or infection control, with strong communication and remote-working proficiency. Fully remote role with flexible hours.

Qualifications

Advanced degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, or Microbiology.
5+ years in environmental hygiene, infection control, or public health sanitation.
Strong epidemiology, risk assessment and biosecurity knowledge.
Ability to research, analyze and interpret complex data.
Excellent written and verbal communication, capable of clear scientific conveyance.
Proficient with Zoom, Teams, Slack and virtual project management tools.
Experience developing training materials and delivering virtual presentations.
Self-motivated, organized, and effective in a remote setting with SA regulations knowledge.

Responsibilities

Develop and refine environmental hygiene strategies and protocols.
Analyze environmental quality, microbial contamination, and sanitation effectiveness.
Create reports, guidelines, and educational materials for clients and teams.
Provide remote consultation on infection control, sanitation and outbreak prevention.
Stay updated on public health developments and hygiene technologies.
Collaborate virtually with managers and researchers for integrated approaches.
Assess and recommend cleaning and disinfection methods for diverse settings.
Monitor compliance via remote audits and data analysis.
Assist in training programs for cleaning staff and stakeholders.
