Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Senior Automotive Performance Engineer to lead advanced vehicle performance development in a remote team environment. You will drive simulation-based analysis, model calibration, and strategy optimization for engines, transmissions and hybrids.

The role emphasizes collaboration across software, hardware and test teams, with mentorship of junior engineers and presentation of findings to stakeholders. A strong background in vehicle dynamics and ECUs is essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in automotive performance engineering.
Proven expertise in vehicle dynamics, powertrain control systems and calibration.
Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, Adams or equivalent simulation tools.
Strong analytical skills and ability to work remotely with teams.

Responsibilities

Develop and refine advanced vehicle performance models using simulation software.
Analyze data from vehicle testing to identify performance and efficiency gains.
Design control strategies for engine, transmission and hybrid powertrains.
Collaborate with software, hardware and test teams via virtual platforms.
Conduct root cause analysis and define performance requirements for new platforms.
Mentor junior engineers and prepare detailed technical reports for stakeholders.
