Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Midrand seeks a Senior Legal Advisor: Regulatory to provide specialist regulatory legal advice across pharmaceutical, healthcare, data protection and consumer-protection frameworks. You will identify regulatory risk, advise on licencing and regulatory processes, and support regulator engagements, investigations and enforcement matters.

Qualifications

• LLB degree or equivalent and admission as Attorney of the High Court.
• 8–12 years' post-qualification regulatory experience in healthcare/pharma/retail or other highly regulated environment.
• Experience in regulator engagements, submissions, licensing investigations, audits, hearings or regulatory litigation.
• Expertise in at least two relevant regulatory areas – pharmaceutical/healthcare, data protection/privacy, competition or consumer protection.
• Ability to advise across unfamiliar regulatory frameworks with practical input into commercial, operational, strategic and compliance matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide authoritative, practical and commercially focused regulatory legal advice across pharmaceutical, healthcare, data protection, competition and consumer regulation.
• Interpret legislation, regulations, licences, standards and enforcement trends and advise on implications for the Group.
• Identify material regulatory risk in business initiatives and propose controls and remediation.
• Provide strategic regulatory input to support lawful, risk-balanced business decisions.
• Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into guidance, templates and action plans for the Legal team.
