Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Midrand seeks a Senior Legal Advisor: Commercial to join its Legal team. The role provides expert commercial contracting, negotiation, preliminary dispute management and high-level regulatory issue spotting across retail, pharma and healthcare commercial arrangements.

The position requires an LLB or equivalent, admission as an Attorney of the High Court of SA, and 6–12 years’ post-qualification experience in commercial matters.

Qualifications

• LLB degree or equivalent legal qualification and admission as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa.
• Minimum 6–12 years’ post-qualification experience in commercial contracting and negotiation.
• Ability to structure and manage complex commercial arrangements and provide practical legal advice.

Responsibilities

• Provide commercially focused legal advice on business initiatives and changes.
• Identify risks and propose proportionate mitigation strategies.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts across focus areas.
• Coordinate with regulatory and other specialists for complex matters.
• Oversee contract lifecycle and governance, including templates and playbooks.
