Dis-Chem Pharmacies in Midrand seeks a Senior Legal Advisor: Regulatory to provide specialist regulatory legal advice across the Group, focusing on pharmaceutical, pharmacy, medical and privacy frameworks. The role supports licensing, regulator engagements and regulatory disputes, aligning legal input with commercial objectives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8–12 years post-qualification regulatory experience in healthcare/pharma/retail or highly regulated environments.
• Experience engaging regulators, submissions, investigations, audits, hearings or regulatory litigation.
• Ability to advise across unfamiliar regulatory frameworks and provide practical input into commercial, operational and compliance matters.

Responsibilities

• Provide regulatory legal advice on pharmaceutical, healthcare, data protection, competition and consumer-protection matters affecting the Group.
• Interpret legislation, licences, standards and enforcement trends; advise on implications for activities and operating models.
• Identify material regulatory risk in initiatives and recommend controls or alternative approaches.
• Provide strategic regulatory input to support lawful and balanced business decisions.
• Monitor developments and translate into guidance, templates and action plans for the Legal team.
