Our client, a leading real estate advisory firm, is seeking a highly experienced and certified Senior Real Estate Appraiser to join their expanding, fully remote team. This is a critical role focused on providing accurate and defensible real estate valuations for a wide range of purposes, including mortgage lending, investment analysis, estate planning, and litigation support. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough property inspections (when necessary and logistically feasible remotely), researching market data, analyzing comparable sales, and preparing detailed appraisal reports. Key Responsibilities

• Perform complex real estate appraisals for various property types, including residential, commercial, and industrial properties, primarily serving markets relevant to Pretoria .
• Conduct detailed market research, analyze comparable sales and leasing data, and assess economic conditions impacting property values.
• Prepare comprehensive and well-supported appraisal reports in compliance with USPAP (Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice) and other relevant industry guidelines.
• Conduct physical property inspections (as required and feasible for remote work) to gather essential data and assess condition, features, and marketability.
• Analyze zoning, land use regulations, and environmental factors that may affect property value.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing expert advice and timely communication regarding appraisal status and findings.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior appraisers, reviewing their reports and offering technical support to ensure quality and consistency.
• Stay current with industry best practices, technological advancements in appraisal software, and changes in real estate markets and regulations.
• Defend appraisal reports when necessary in legal or review settings.

Requirements

• Certified Residential Appraiser (CRA) or Certified General Appraiser (CGA) designation is mandatory.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in performing real estate appraisals.
• Proven expertise in various valuation approaches, including the sales comparison approach, cost approach, and income capitalization approach.
• Thorough understanding of USPAP and other regulatory requirements governing real estate appraisals.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex valuation concepts.
