Placements24 is seeking a highly experienced Lead Quantity Surveyor to oversee cost management for major construction projects in the Sandton area on a hybrid model. The role requires strong leadership, strategic cost control, and expert contract knowledge to optimize profitability and ensure financial integrity across contractual obligations.

You will head a team of quantity surveyors, mentor staff, and deliver robust financial reporting to senior management while navigating complex variations,

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Quantity Surveying (e.g., RQS, MRICS) or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in Quantity Surveying, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
• Proven track record of managing costs on large-scale, complex construction projects.
• Expertise in contract law, FIDIC, and other standard forms of contract.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and financial acumen.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the quantity surveying team, providing guidance and professional development.
• Develop and implement advanced cost management strategies and financial controls for major projects.
• Oversee the tendering process, contract negotiation, and administration for complex construction contracts.
