Placements24’s client in Cape Town is seeking a proactive Lead Quantity Surveyor to manage all costs for major construction projects, ensuring budget adherence and high quality standards. You will oversee cost planning, tendering, and final accounts while collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying (or Construction Economics), with 6+ years’ experience and strong contract expertise, ready to work in a hybrid

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of contract administration, cost planning, and financial control principles in South Africa.
• Proficiency in measurement software and estimating tools.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Experience working on large-scale commercial and industrial projects.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents for construction projects in Cape Town.
• Manage and control project costs throughout the construction lifecycle, including procurement, variations, and final accounts.
• Negotiate with contractors and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and conditions.
• Monitor site activities to ensure that work is being carried out in accordance with agreed contract terms and specifications.
• Identify and mitigate financial risks associated with construction projects.
• Provide expert advice on contractual matters and assist in resolving disputes.
