Placements24 in Paarl, Western Cape, is seeking a seasoned Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercial aspects of building projects. This role balances site engagement with office duties in a hybrid work model, ensuring profitability and client satisfaction across the project lifecycle.

Ideal candidates bring a degree in Quantity Surveying and at least 7 years of building project experience, with strong negotiation, contracts knowledge and proficiency in measurement software and MS

Qualifications

• A degree in Quantity Surveying or related construction field.
• Minimum 7 years of relevant quantity surveying experience on building projects.
• Strong understanding of contract law, procurement methods and construction economics.

Responsibilities

• Develop accurate cost estimates, bills of quantities and tender documents.
• Administer contracts, manage variations, claims and dispute resolution.
• Monitor expenditure against budget, implement cost controls and report finances.
• Conduct site visits to verify valuations and identify cost risks.
• Negotiate with clients, contractors and suppliers for favorable terms.
• Prepare final accounts and ensure timely commercial project closure.
