The ideal candidate has 7+ years of QS experience, solid knowledge of FIDIC/JBCC contracts, and proficiency with estimating software and MS Office. Travel to sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
• Professional accreditation (e.g., Pr QS with SACQSP) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of construction contracts (FIDIC, JBCC) and standard forms of measurement.
• Proficiency in cost estimating software and standard office applications.
• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple financial streams and complex project accounts.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required, supporting the hybrid model.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and bills of quantities for construction projects.
• Manage the tendering process, including tender evaluation and contract negotiation.
• Administer construction contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
• Monitor project expenditure, track costs against budget, and forecast final costs.
• Manage variations, claims, and disputes, providing timely and accurate advice.
• Conduct site visits to assess progress and verify payment applications.
• Prepare interim and final accounts for projects.
• Advise on procurement strategies and risk management related to project costs.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and internal project teams.
